Ann Hamilton, MA, LIMHP
Education: I received my master's degree in counseling in 1979 from the University of NE - Lincoln. I returned to their Marriage and Family therapy program in early 1993 to complete coursework to gain eligibility for clinical membership in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor.
Licensure: I am licensed by the State of Nebraska as an Independent Mental Health Practitioner with certification as a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Professional Counselor.
Approach: I take a developmental and systemic approach in working with clients. I help my clients to gain a greater understanding of themselves and how various losses in their lives have affected them psychologically and emotionally. I help them to identify their strengths and build on them. With couples I work to improve communication, acceptance of differences and conflict resolution. In years of working with people I have developed an ability to not only care for the client, but also introduce a world view that helps those who are struggling understand that to be human is to experience painful times. It is the goal to resolve the pain or to learn to cope with it and live a more satisfying life.
Payment & Coverage: I am contracted with most insurance companies to provide mental health services. These include:
I am not a Medicaid or Medicare provider. For those without health insurance coverage, a sliding fee scale is available, along with the ability to set up a payment plan.
